Hayward MaxFlo VS Pump

The MaxFlo VS pump is the ideal choice to replace your existing pump with a energy efficient variable speed pump. Variable Speed pumps save you money by saving energy. What an upgrade!

I live in the LA area and DWP has a $500 rebate for this model. Net cost for me will be $150. That's not including the power savings. I haven't gotten my power bill yet but based on the digital readout on the pump, it should be good. This the first pool pump that I installed. That being said, installation was fairly painless. The hardest part was redoing the PVC. Once installed, you simply choose your run schedule and three different RMPs (if you want). It's much quieter than my old one.

Great Pump!

Very satisfied with this pump. Installation was a breeze and is a huge improvement over the old 1.5HP non variable speed pump it replaced. The included connectors make the integration to existing plumbing very easy. Programming the speed controller was simple. Can't wait to get my next power bill to see what the actual savings are.

Sunplay made ordering very easy, free shipping and no tax were a huge plus. With my local rebate from the utility company, this pump was nearly free.

Service your filter at the same time you are installing the new pump. You will only know the true performance with a fully cleaned system and this will give you your baseline to know when a backflush or clean out is needed. I didn't and at first was not happy with the water flow. My pool guy said he had just back flushed and serviced the filters. Upon further investigation that was not true. I did a full teardown on the DE filter and recharged with new DE. This greatly improved the flow of water to what I was expecting.

Great pump and a really good value

We have a relatively small in-ground pool (12,000 gal) with a salt generator and this is our second replacement pool pump in 3 years. I did a lot of research this time and after comparing the features of a variable speed versus another single speed pump, there was no question about wanting a variable speed pump, so we opted for the MaxFlo VS. Installation was easy, as we already had installed quick connect unions at both connection points. The pump is so efficient that we could let it run 24/7 and still use less electricity than the old single speed pump. It is also very quiet, even on the fastest speed, and the electronic control pad makes regular pool maintenance a lot easier.
