Nice size & Brightness, but

I originally had two of these miniature lights installed in my gunite pool when built 14 years ago. Unfortunately, water would typically seep past the seal and corrode the internal socket. They both became intermittent after a few years and fully dysfunctional after six. I went without replacing, looking for a good alternative and possibly a fully sealed LED light. However, there were no good alternatives that fit the existing niche and that would provide the light brightness (lumens). In order to have any light, I elected to purchase the same lights as this was about the only option. It appears they are still manufactured in the same way, so I would expect a limited life. We will see what happens. In my opinion the design is rather poor in that I suspect the high heat generated by the halogen bulb causes air to seep past the rubber gasket (seal) and when it cools it creates a sort of vacuum pressure that seeps water back in to equalize. The constant heating and cooling builds up moisture and eventually water inside the fixture causing corrosion. I don't believe this takes a lot of cycles or time as my pool is in Ohio so we only utilize it 4 months during the year when we have very long daylight, therefore the lights are almost never used.

Great Pool Light

I replaced an 18 year old exact same model pool light with this one. Easy to install as long as you used the old wire to pull the new one. No issues and no problems. Works great.
