Great Value!

This pump is priced competitively against the Pentair SuperFlo but has a larger inlet and outlet ( 2-3 inch vs 1 1/2 - 2 inch), something you'll see on the more expensive pumps like the WhisperFlo and really helps the efficiency. Furthermore, this pump has an adjustable height to make it as close to a drop in replacement as possible.

Good 2-speed replacement for a single-speed

This is actually a Zodiak pump. This replaced a nameless pump with a 220V 1hp Marathon Electric motor. The extra baseplate provided looks pretty configurable and keeps the pump about an inch off the pad - love it. This has an A.O. Smith motor which is longer than my old one and the old bonding wire just BARELY reached, so you have to account for a longer motor. 2" couplers are provided which is nice. This is easy to wire as well. I have mine wired on high like a one-speed pump for now, but a heavy-duty SPDT toggle switch (not included) will give you a low-speed (and savings) with the option of high-speed for backwashing and vacuuming. Or you can buy a 2-speed digital controller (not included). The sticker on the motor makes it plain that this requires a 2-speed controller. The quarter-turn lid is slightly disorienting at first, but works well. This does not include lube for the o-ring on the lid.
