Pentair Air Relief Assembly #261003

I bought this to replace a 20 year old automatic air relief valve on a Nautilus Pool D.E. Filter. Amazon list this part as a Automatic Air Relief Assembly Replacement. The original valve that came with the Nautilus DE filter was self purging (automatic) but this is no longer manufactured. After introducing air to the system (ie; cleaning the filter, etc) you must now manually purge the air that sits on top of the filter tank just once. you should not need to do this on a daily basis unless your system has a air leak allowing air to enter the closed system. I would have preferred an exact replacement to my original valve but this is the next best thing. Note; You will need to save /reuse your old internal retaining nut, washer and one O ring for proper installation unless you buy these separately.
