This kit also includes ScreenLogic Connect CD for use on up to four windows computers and is compatible with Pentair IntelliTouch, EasyTouch and Compool Systems.

Interface Kit Includes:
  • ScreenLogic Protocol Adapter
ScreenLogic Interface Features Include:
  • Control all key functions of your pool or spa - temperatures, jets, lighting, and water features.
  • Remotely manage from a PC or a Mac computer using the ScreenLogic Interface PC or Mac app, available in all ScreenLogic Interface kits and as a download from the Pentair Aquatic Systems Website.
  • Easily change, track and monitor pH and ORP levels when using the IntelliChem Chemical Control System with IntelliTouch or EasyTouch Automation Systems.

Useful, but Limited

The interface kit and its associated app meet my needs, but don't really live up to the Pentair name. Good news: I connected my interface directly (wired to the panel, wired to the network) and have experienced none of the stability issues reported by folks using the wireless interface. Just remember to include surge protection any time you have wires entering your home. Bad news: The Android app includes only a few of the features included in the ads and the manual. It was last updated in 2018 and is woefully out of date. Configuration can only be updated via a PC or Apple device. Also, if you have a segented network (different wifi "SSID" names for your smart home devices vs your computers/phones/tablets), you must connect the the same specific SSID as the ScreenLogic controller. Likewise, on Apple devices, you must either use the same specific ID each time you load the app or use the remote connection option to locate the controller to have any functionality at all. Nevertheless, I am FINALLY able to use remote connections and/or Alexa voice control to command the spa jets, heater, lights, and fill line. These are great capabilities, but given the price, I don't think asking for a modern, complete app is unreasonable. (Unless you're absolutely NOT handy, self-install is pretty easy; save some money and do it yourself.)

Save A Bundle - Do It Yourself

I upgraded our Pentair EasyTouch Pool Controller by adding the Pentair ScreenLogic Interface Kit that I ordered from Sunplay. Sunplay not only had the best price but quick delivery. I opted NOT to go wireless between the Interface and our router by directly connecting a Cat 5e Ethernet cable, through our attic, between the Interface and the router with the Interface unit mounted in the Low Voltage (upper left corner) of the EasyTouch Pool Controller. No surprise, I wasn't the only DIYer that came up with the same idea. I found the following YouTuber explaining the entire process and recommend watching his video: (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8o74R0HZ3nw).

The enclosed Pentair Installation and User's Guide was easy to follow but I highly advise to read it thoroughly before starting the installation process.
The bottom line: I estimate I saved $1500 by doing it myself and maintained our home wireless security.

The ScreenLogic 2 Interface works great though my Android Smart Phone although I've yet to get it to work on my PC (Pentair doesn't make it easy for DIYers). I now control all my pool operations (except adding chlorine pucks) through my smart phone!

The installation process requires exposing the high voltage (220 VAC) area as well as the low-voltage side of the Pentair EasyTouch Pool Controller board. WARNING: THE INSTALLER MUST TURN OFF ALL POWER TO THE POOL CONTROLLER AT THE HOME CIRCUIT BREAKER BOX PRIOR TO STARTING ANY INSTALLATION. FAILURE TO DO SO MY RESULT IN DEATH OR INJURY OF THE INSTALLER AND/OR DESTRUCTION OF THE CONTROLLER AND/OR INTERFACE. DO NOT ATTEMPT THE INSTALLATION IF YOU HAVE LITTLE/NO EXPERIENCE WORKING AROUND POTENTIALLY FATAL VOLTAGE.
